That is some nice growth from 1/2 inch. Mine are not even that big yet and I stocked them in December at 1-3 inches, or at least the few I caught the other day had not grown much.
Thanks for the pic.

Hey Mook,
Looking good! In the right conditions I can believe it. I stocked 3 to 4 inch CNBG in Feb. and in July I was catching some that were 7 plus inches. Good looking fish bud!
The only difference between a rut and a Grave is the depth. So get up get out of that rut and get moving!! Time to work!!

Is it possible for BG to grow that quickly. I thought it took Tilapia at least 2-3 months to get that size from fry and I think they are one of the fastest growing fish.
I am just curious.

MRHELLO,
I believe it is given the right setup. I have a BUNCH of very tiny minnows and a BUNCH of chara in my water so I have a lot of small organisms in my water for them to eat on. I was quite suprised when I saw the first one that I caught also. Here is a picture of it. Keep in mind this was a 3.5 to 4 inch CNBG in FEB. and I caught this one in July and it's a good 7 plus inches.
