OK, not game camera pics... I was at a new archery shop today getting my bow worked on and the guy also owns a deer farm. So, when we were done working on my bow he showed me a few of his deer. Pretty cool!

The farm is in Springs, PA, probably not to far from Sunil's pond.

they are hard horn already and one has dropped at side. That is strange. Does he control testosterone levels?

does he not grow the horns bigger than that? Some game farms can produce 200 inch yearlings!

The buck with his side gone had it broke off by the bigger buck. The guy said the day they were both hard horned, the bigger buck stomped the snot out of him.

About 10% of the wild deer in PA have shed their velvet. So them being out of velvet is natural.

He is just a small time deer farmer. He said he can't afford the cost of $2500-$10,000 to buy 1 oz of high end buck semen the big time deer farmers use. The one buck that was still in velvet I couldn't get a pic of is about 120" at 1.5 years of age. His deer are all of PA origin. He mostly keeps them to sell their urine to hunters and to use for his taxidermy business.

DIED, what's up with the slight different camera angles? How is the camera mounted?

I'll bet those 'yotes would have liked to be there when the fawn was there....... Lot bigger ears and thinner bodies than the 'yotes in the Midwest.

I hate to give you bad news FH but based upon that third photo I believe that one of your bucks is demonically possessed.

We just started getting them to come to this feeder. We rarely coax the bucks out in my neck of the woods. They tend to stay down on the river bottom.

Definitely don't want to try shooting that one - there's just no telling what the fallout might be! grin

Got out to check the trail cams over the weekend. I won't even have a chance to get out to hunt at all most likely this year, but am still excited to see these deer.

There is actually a second big buck in this pic behind the small tree on the left side of the pic:

We planted these buck forage oats about 2 weeks ago. Check out this footage of a monster deer munching away.

n8ly, awesome footage. It's amazing how fast the oats have grown. I guess I just decided what I'm planting this weekend!

Headed to the Florida Keys from Nov 20 to Dec 5th so I will miss both Shotgun seasons. I might get out muzzleloader hunting, but probably only if the ice isnt safe.

One of my clients is letting me use his boat and gear for the 2 weeks we will be down in the keys. He even has a couple local guys lined up to teach me the ins and outs of snapper and grouper fishing for the first couple days!
