Curious if any of you pros cut back on feeding during the extended hot, dry spells this time of year. I have been feeding morning and evening, but I've started skipping an occasional feeding or feeding a little less sometimes.

The fish aren't as active during the hot part of the day, but they still seem to eat well. Guess I'm just a little concerned because we're 2+ feet down and still having 100 degree days without rain. Haven't taken the water temp, but it feels very warm at the bank. (I won't panic until I see bodies floating...)

100 degrees here. I'm mostly feeding once a day, typically around 9am.

Okie, there aren't a whole lot of Pro's here; mostly just junkies.

However, this is the time that metabolisms are running wild. If I were back in Texas, I'd be feeding quite a lot.

We've been having 104-107 degree days here, mind you this is VA.. its crazy. Just started feeding the Blue Gill at my friends pond last month, they learned pretty quick were and when the food was coming. Now they're huge schools of BG were few were before, mostly because some submerged pillars are near by were bass hang out, now when the BG feed so do the bass lol. I plan to feed them till winter then start back up in Feb, I figure they don't need to eat much during winter?

It has been record hot here too. I'm going to quit feeding for a few weeks. Very few fish have come up for food during the last two evenings.

I wanted a bluegill dinner last weekend and this weekend. We had to settle for bass -- but that is OK. I can see large schools of fish in the deepest parts of the pond on my little fish finder. Nothing entices them.

Thanks for all the replies. Mine still feed like crazy, so I guess I'll keep feeding twice a day. It's been too stinkin' hot to fish...I don't do as well in this heat as I used to! It was already in the 90s here at 10:30 this morning. *sigh*

Still feeding twice a day here in west GA - even though it's 95 every day, they are still eating real well.

Just do it...

Tell me about it! This is usually one of my favorite months to fish same goes for May, early June but fishing in 95-107 isn't fun nor productive around here.
