Hello everyone!
Great news!....
Our website team, led by TJ Hudson (teehjaeh57), has prepared some very cool changes for the forum and other parts of the website.
Here's the plan.
Tonight, at 9:30 pm, the forum will be shut down for maintenance. It will be back up by 6 a.m. in the morning.
We're adding several new forum topics under the heading "Acreage" These new topics will open opportunities to share what we are doing with our property from topics about docks to cabins to special projects.
There will be another new set of topics related specifically to species of fish such as bass, bluegill, catfish....etc.
There will be a new category for posting photos. It will be much easier and our software company assures us they are working to make photo posting even easier in the near future. For now, there will be a special image gallery section to post your pictures either similar to how you've done or with a link to images which will be stored on our server. TJ will explain all that inside the image gallery section.
Lastly, we're adding more content in the form of articles. We're starting with 5 or 6 articles that have been published in past issues of Pond Boss. We'll add to that content regularly. I think TJ has archived more than 60 articles from PB that will make their way into the article category.
Our mission is two-fold. We want to grow our Pond Boss family by improving our search engine optimization techniques in an effort to reach 10,000 paid subscribers to the magazine and to offer more content for those folks looking for something specific.
Lastly, TJ is working on the ambassador program and the field correspondent program.
Good things on the horizon.
Fish on!

No retraining! It's more like adding more paper to the roll.

This is a long-term request.

I'm guessing that a lot of us use -- I don't even know what to call it (Blackberries, I-Phones, SmartPhones, etc.) -- but, basically a cellphone with Internet capability.

Some sites are much better than others when using mobile devices. The current Pond Boss forum is somewhere in the middle. Not bad, but not real easy to read and use.

As we advance in technology, it would be great if the Pond Boss site could be a little more friendly towards mobile devices.

Anyway, just a thought . . .

I should have posted this a while ago, but most of the time I just expect sites to be difficult on my little screen.

I am looking forward to the new forum, even if it doesn't work perfectly on my phone.

Thanks Bob and crew.

It's going to be a lonely, lonely night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are we going to be like kids at Christmas and not be able to sleep tonight?

I worked from midnight to eight, no PBF. I had to watch the Braves beat the Phillies on mlb.com. Looks like the changes are worth the night off. Good Job!!

Good morning Dave, I've checked the ships systems, and everything appears to be running normally.

Congratulations. It looks like it went flawlessly.

I really appreciate it when web sites can make changes the way this was implemented. Even with very substantial improvements, there is barely a change to the overall look and feel that we've all become comfortable with.

Cat, I use my mobile for viewing posts too. Nearly everything I read on the forum is through my phone anymore. Personally, I like that I don't have to open the browser in order to read posts. Browsers on phones take a long time and drain your battery quickly. I wouldn't be able to read as much as I do if I had to do this every time. There are other forums, BBG is one, where I simply wait to get to a PC where I can pull it up off my email to view, instead of using my mobile. What do you think would improve this feature? I already think it's pretty "mobile-friendly", but what did you have in mind?

I would just like to say I think the changes are great, and kudos to Bob, tj, and anyone else involved. These are a few more steps that must be takes to make pondboss a household name, well at least in the fishing world.

I would like to suggest, and dont know if it currently exists, but what about either a one time fee, to access old issues of PB, like in the PDF form like the free one on the main page to download and try If you are affraid that people wont subscribe to the magizine if they can pay a one time fee to read it online, make it where all issues up to 5 years ago are on it. Thus when the June/July 2010 issue comes out in the mail, the June/July issuse of 2005 comes on the internet??? or some variation of this idea. (Im not sure how old the mag is but im pretty sure its at least 5 years old.)

Nice! Really TOP Notch!!!

Question: Is there, or can there be a way, maybe in the future to directly post pdf files directly from my computer?
