I was concerned due to the extremly cold weather in the south this year that I would loose my threadfin. Water temps hit 42 for a few days but I never saw any threadfin floating, I did find about 20 around the ponds edge during this time and that was it thus I assumed that they made it.I assume if the died they would have floated up. Now the water temps are mid to upper 60s and all looks good but I dont see any signs of threadfin. I cant even catch any in a cast net. If the cold weater got them would they have floated or sank? What temp do threadfin spawn, I thought it was about 65. Thanks Jake

I only saw a few float up when the pond froze over also. I hoped they had made it but after a electroshock and using the cast net I haven't seen any. Usually I have seen them on the surface in the afternoons by now. I fear that they didn't make it. My pond is 20 ft deep so I thought maybe they had a chance but I went ahead and ordered some more incase they don't show up. Greg Grimes said that he hasn't seen any in the ponds that he has been shocking either so you may want to go ahead and order some. However most of the suppiers are out of them because they died in there ponds too. Good luck!

One of our ponds is exactly like JS said. Another one has TShad that made it through the ice. Very similar ponds less than 2 miles apart. Go figure.
