Well guys, I applied 800 lbs of alum and 350 lbs of hydrated lime last weekend to try to clear my pond but no luck. I still can only see about 12" deep. Maybe I just have one of those ponds that's going to be muddy. According to my jar test, it should have been plenty. I wanted to get something growing in it to have some cover for the forage before I stock the LMB but if the light can only get thru the top few inches of water, what can i grow? Maybe I need professional help! The muddy water issue has been a pain in the....

I felt the same way the weekend I treated my pond. I sprayed it on a Saturday and when I left the farm the next day I was sure it had been a waste of money. It continued to clear over the next few weeks however and before long I was thinking it was some of the best money I ever spent.

It didn't clear any in a week but maybe it will. I just got pretty frustrated when I looked at it last weekend. Thanks Rojas, you do give me some hope! It took me a 2 buddies over half the day Saturday to get it sprayed. I'll be back out there this weekend so I'll keep you posted. I do catch some run-off at the pond but I have planted everywhere with wheat and rye so I think that filters the run-off water pretty well.
