I recorded the original V-series that aired back in 1983 on my DVR via SIFI channel over the weekend in preparation for recording the new V series starting tomorrow night.

The only good thing I remember from that was Jane Badler, and then only when she had a perm.

My wife was just excited to see that they will be airing this series again. Sadly, I don't remember ever watching it.

I remember the old "V." We watched all of 'em.

They weren't that good.

I would categorize them as shows you could watch when you were a kid, but can't stand now that you're older.

Shows good as a kid and still good:
1) Brady Bunch
2) Adams Family
3) ????

Shows good as a kid but not good anymore:
1) Magnum PI
2) Thundar the Barbarian
3) Love Boat
4) Fantasy Island
5) Dukes of Hazzard (well, there's still one good thing about it)

Well, there's a side to Sunil that I never expected to see. That took some guts to admit. You're ruined.

Hey, easy on Sunil! The Brady Bunch is certainly still quality entertainment, you stinkers! (Probably Sunil is the only one who will get that reference!)

Adding to his lists:

Still Good:
Dragnet
Rat Patrol
Ultraman
Johnny Sokko

Now lame, but still with some entertainment value:
Buck Rogers (Still like Wilma Deering - kinda like Daisy Duke!)
Land of the Lost
(NOTE - Yes, I will admit to actually owning BOTH of these complete series on DVD!)
Starsky and Hutch
The Munsters

Feel free to flame away, but be sure to add to the list so we can flame back!

It was a great show - I'm actually thinking I may buy the whole series on DVD from a Japanese Super Heroes site I found recently. Plus, it has the full Johnny Sokko series as well! Nice to find another Ultraman afficianado!

See Dwight! Who's the freak now!!!

Ultraman, heck yeah! Haven't seen that in a while. Rat Patrol also.

Still good:

Abbot & Costello (any flick; even though we're not doing movies, it was kind of like a series, you know, on every weekend)
Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom
Fresh Prince of Bel Aire (I was older when this came out, but I'm a betting man)

Unsure (haven't tried recently):

Wild, Wild West
Kung Fu

No good now:

Original Battle Star Galactica
Three's Company

Ric, I'm also still a Stooges fan. I would still like to watch The Little Rascals, also called Our Gang. Those were the days when they didn't need canned laughter to make sure we knew something was funny.

I would have liked to see one where Fred Sanford and Archie Bunker lived next door to each other.

I second the little rascals, I loved the boat they made with duck power, and the cars with goat and dog power, sort of a kids version of the red green show. \:D

Surely some of you old, crusty, cusses (like me) remember the Red Skelton Show and the original Candid Camera show with Allen Funt.

Red Skelton was a genius, the Dean Martin show was funny too, especially his celebrity roasts, too bad they don't have good shows like that anymore.

I could also go for a good western again.

Andy Griffith was great - the best were in B&W that had plenty of "Barney". Remember his "salt & pepper suit". "Nip it, nip it in the bud". Those were the days.......
