The pond water level is at a new 5 year low.

I was going to move the depth post and graduated tube. That would have been a lot of work so instead I dug around the post and drove it down so the graduated tube is positioned at the current low water level.

Is your nearby river correspondingly low this Fall?

Cripes, Dwight -- have you really been that dry?? We were wet through July, anyway.

Like we discussed at the show, Dwight, it's time to reconnect Bremer Pond to the Rock River.

Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:"
"She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

We have had very little rain this summer so the Rock River and the ground water table are down accordingly.

There is no cause for alarm since the previous all time low (last 5 years)was only 2.5 inches above the current level.

This was the year of the thickest ice (26 inches), the coolest summer (that I recall), and the least rain (that I recall).

So far this year the average top to bottom D.O. is 10.46923 (monitored weekly) so life is very good under the surface of Bremer Pond. \:\)

My pond has dropped over 2 feet in the last month, we went over a month without any measurable rain. Now the pond level is the same as last year when it was still filling up.

It's been a weird summer, little rain, and cool, then hot and no rain after Sept. 1. There was frost on the car last night.

Yes, the pond is up 4 inches from the the 2.25 inches of rain. Since the Rock River runs near the pond, the rising river affects the water levels. After the run off flowing into the river subsides the true depth will be known. I estimate the true gain will be about 1.5 inches.
