All,
I have recently stocked my pond w/ a combination of LMB, hybrid BG, Perch, fat head minnows & some hybrid channel cats.
I have started feeding them w/ fish food - 2 questions:
1) How often do I feed?
2) There are app 120-150 fish (not including minnows) - pond is app app .6 acres - how much should they be fed?
Thanks

For NY state, once or twice a day should be plenty often. Dawn and near dusk may be the times when all species will be comfortable fishing.
Feed as much as the fish will eat in ten minutes. This may not be very much at all at first, depending on how much there is in the pond for all of them to eat (a function of water fertility and how long the pond was established before stocking).
What size of everything did you stock?

They should be enough to handle Purina GFC or Aquamax 500.
P.S. Make that "fingerlings", not "fry".

Thanks Theo.
Another question - since I am in the area of .5 acres - avg depth of 8-10', how many fish should I stock with?
Just a ballpark would do.

How many of each species you mentioned above did you initially stock?

JL I would think on the order of 50 LMB, a couple hundred YP, and up to a couple of hundred HBG. I would not stock over 50 Cats in a half acre and personally would limit it to 25, but a cat-crazy PM could go higher if they were aggressively removed as they reached 1.5 lbs +. If stocked at the same time as the others, at least 10 pounds of FHM. It is a slightly unusual stocking combo; others may have different and quite valid thoughts on the numbers.
