My hubby called me at work today as he'd seen something he'd never seen before. An approx. 9" Georgia Giant was having a fight with 6" Bass and a bunch of fish were around them watching the fight...it went on for quite awhile. Have you see this happen in your pond? Hubby was cutting grass so he didn't stick around to see who won or lost. But, I'm betting on the bass myself.

I'd take that bet without odds. I'd bet on any 6" sunfish against a bass of the same size. When the sunfish is larger? Fugget aboudit.

I saw a large bluegill bump a larger bass away from a pellet a couple of weeks ago. Water was very clear. 4 ft. I have since fertilized. I have mixed emotions;I love to see all that goes on, but I also realize that I need a natural food chain.

Bluegill don't mess around. They're the Joe Pesci of the fish world.
