Has anyone out there run a fishing club or pay to fish site? I have a large parcel of land with 11 ponds from .5 to 5 acres on it. There are several nice sites to build additional ponds and I have to equipment to do it myself. I would like to stock these with a variety of fish and charge to fish there.

I like the idea but with certain reservations. Most of us like the idea of trying to alleviate the expenses of land and pond ownership. Eleven ponds can be a lot of work and help would be appreciated. As long as the club was interested in assisting with and maintaining a quality fishery, it might be of benefit.
Of course, people will be people. I expect that somebody will want to fish when the roads are muddy. You can probably expect road maintenance problems and somebody showing up at your door wanting you to get their car out of the mud.
I've been approached about it but just don't think I want to deal with people. The link that Ewest provides covers an awful lot of contingencis that you need to think about in advance. The words "Liability Insurance" scares the Bejabbers out of me.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Just repeat "Personal Liability Umbrella Policy" over and over until you feel better. Then the premium will come due and you will feel worse.

As I heard someone say "I love mankind, it's people I hate."
In Dog Beers, I've had one.
