I have heard of the Texas White Catfish, but cannot seem to find any info on the web. Any suggestions? I am interested in getting a pond started with them.

Good luck! Please let me know if you have any success. I have contacted 3 "fish-guys" with no luck. 2 stated an odd one here and there mixed with CC. (2 much trouble to save?). I too want in a pond! I would love to hear a price for some adults.

I've seen them several times when picking up fish and had some mixed in. I've stocked them along with the other fish but have no idea about survival since they weren't my ponds.

I would contact the fish truck people and see if they can segregate some. I don't see them very often but have never been surprised when they show up.

There is a fellow in Indiana who raises them.
Larry Hess is his name.

If your talking about white CC, you can get them from the bait barn in indiana for 100 dollars for 75 4-6 inches. I also contacted petco one time and they said I could bulk order them from the store manager.

When I stocked my small pond with channel cats, I had two white ones mixed in with the rest. They did well and we'd see them come to the feed to fish, but then one of them was caught and released in my big pond. The other was caught last year, but while she was holding it for a picture, it twisted out of her hands and went back into the pond. It's now at least 3 pounds and comes to the feed with the others every morning. I also have a small one that's less then a pound that is very aggressive with the feed. It's one of the first to come up to feed.

When I got my CC from Todd Overton there were several albinos in with them.He brought up a couple thousand fish and there was probably 20-30 albinos.

My white channel cats have black eyes. No pink eyes, which is what I consider an albino.

Interesting, do they have the pink body color like albinos or are they actually a white color? I don't recall ever hearing about "white" channel catfish. Anyone have a photo?

I have several of the albino catfish in my pond and they are quite big now. They are white, I believe the eyes are pink. I should have a picture of one...here it is (kind of redish from afternoon sun)

I am just curious if there are actually "white" channel catfish. Not albino, as in they have normal colored eyes but have some other genetic morph that makes them white. I have 3 albino channel catfish in an aquarium that I am growing out to put in my pond. They are almost yellowish pink with pink eyes. Just curious what a "white" channel cat looks like? I know there is a species of catfish known as a white catfish. They are not channel cats, but rather more closely related to bullheads but have a coloration somewhat similar to channel cats.

No not albino. I have some of those. This is a different type of catfish, like white or clear.
