To date I have probably lost about 35 cat fish in the range of 9 to 10 pounds. The neighbor hears large splashing in the pond about 1 A.M. quite often. I am losing all most all large cat fish. There have been a few bream that died. The fish do not show any wounds on most. I have ordered two large traps to put out to see if I have a animal in the pond. Long time ago I saw a animal and it disappeared quickly. I at first thought it was lack of aeration, but after I started it up my loss of catfish continued.

Sounds like you have a varmint.
I don't think catfish struggle enough to make noise when dying from low DO or toxins.

What do you think it is Deaner, do you have otters in your neck of the woods? Can you borrow a game camera from someone?

We have had lots of rain and my pond over flow has received a good work out. Some one said if it is a animal you would get one shot and after that no shots. I saw the animal once and could not get my gun up quick enough for a shot. It appeared to be a beaver or muskrat, it was fast. No marks on the dead fish which is different.

I have lost 37 large cat fish in the range of 10 pounds each. I have two traps, conear I think is the name. This should prove to be interesting. Probably will not get the traps set for 2 more days, croup-crude or whatever.
