We went outside today and notice we are experiencing pond dirt erosion along the top edges; some of this might be normal for a pond 3 years old and no seed or grass really taken in say the first 2' edge (we have steep edges). By the dock it eroded pretty good where the rocks were and we plan to put some rip/rap and smaller stone there. For cosmetic reasons, we really wanted to keep the pond natural and not have to cut an edge to place stone as many pond owners do. Any suggestions on some good vegetation that grows along steep edges of a pond. And please let me know what erosion you have experienced and what would be normal etc. etc. When the pond goes down this summer I may consider along the dam area, putting rock on a ledge. Thanks.
