As we approach year 2 of our pond and most of the stocking was done December of 2007 and April of 2008, we are seeing sizable fish and now lots of baby fish. Last year we saw some, but not like this year. We let the grasses along the edgewater grow thick so it provided hiding places for the small fish. I still have lots of forage fish, I still feed twice a day (quite frankly because I like to watch the trained fish eat). This morning I spent a lot of time relaxing and walking around the pond and unbelievable the amount of baby bass 2" to 4" we are seeing in schools in the hiding areas. There is one part of the pond by our penisula where there is lots of hiding places and a giant willow tree hanging over the wate rand this seems to be a very active spot for bass feeding (and catching them). We continue to enjoy our pond.

That's what it's all about. It's really amazing to have an entire ecosystem in your own back yard. JWHAP and I really enjoy just paddling around our pond to watch what is going on. Fun stuff.
