That final stump will make some nice structure if you can keep it down in the water. Upside down would be even better!

Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:"
"She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

The stump is in the pond, see other pictures on this project. However its upright
and has few weeds on it now. When the pond is full it will be completely under the water.

I orginally started the pond to lure my grandchildern to Miss. But now I intrigued with
making the pond a 2 acre show place. Yes big bass are one of my goals. Also I look
forward to a place to try my hand tie flies.

Eating pond raised catfish aint bad either!!

Yes it has Russ. If you remember a long time ago I did some talking about my Dad doing a pond. Well this is it. I'm real pleased with it and for him. He's had a blast I think. Just wish I was closer and could have participated more. I did build those PVC christmas trees while at home.

I can't wait till its 100% full. The clay on the bottom is so hard the belly scraper wouldn't move it till the excavator came to bust it up. So it holds water. The well is meant to maintain level from evaporation. That 19 days of pumping brought it up about 18 inches and electric cost was about $90.

Well worth it, but the well was another pretty good expense. But now he has unlimited water for his garden and lawn on those dry spells down there in the very deep south.

Thanks for the update Flatlander. Unfortunately Maine to Miss. is a wee bit of a commute. On the subject of water, an old college classmate in Skowhegan sent me some pictures of this past winters snow accumulation. Looks like she did alot of dancing with the snow shovel this past year and should have no water problems.

Good luck with the pond Red!

Russ don't remind me. Banks on the road over 6 ft. The ones from blowing the drive where taller than my garge doors. I'd rather think about ponds and fishing but I know its coming again. Hopefully a light snow season this go around.

Its been raining alot here. Which Big Red was getting this type of rain...it would put another foot in it. g
