I have a 2 acre 17 foot max depth pond. The pond is 25 years old and has never been aerated. there is plenty of smelly dark organic material on the bottom. I have access to a 1/3 hp rotary vane pump and diffusers. If I decide to aerate the pond I would like to have some startup instructions so I don't end up killing fish by releasing toxic gasses from the bottom. In 25 years we have had one fish kill. I would like to avoid another fish kill if at all possible.
Does anyone have a link to startup instructions? Better yet does anyone have startup instructions for a pond similar to what I described?
