Hi All!

Just subscribed to Pond Boss Mag after purchasing a pond with some forest acreage. I will be lurking here a bit here until I get my water legs.

I have an 8 acre pond just 30 miles south of Ray Scott's lakes. I have an autographed copy of his "Bass Boss" book and am thrilled to have found this forum and the PB site.

My lake was visited by an Alabama Department of Conservation Resources (ADCR) biologist and I have too many little bass and too many big bream. His recommendation:

Remove all bass less than 18 inches
Keep all bass over 18 inches
Bream are lacking in the 3 to 5 inch class
Return all bream that can't be eaten
Add grass carp at the rate of 5/acre

Hope to discuss my pond with ya'll soon. I caught a nine pound lmbass last week that measured 9 pounds / 25 inches.

Welcome to PB. You have a very common situation to many here. My suggestion is read here all you can on bass crowded ponds. There is a lot here on the subject. I would not remove any BG until you read a lot on the subject. Don't know about all those carp. Here is a recent pic of some of us with Ray (via Bob's Blog) - he will be at the PB convention next mth.

As day turned to night, we always shot a group photo or two. From left to right, Bob Lusk, Eric West, Bill Saliski, Ray Scott, Bob Robinson and Jim Liner.
