We have a 8-10ac, stocked beautifully 3-4 yrs ago by Lusk Himself. Great construction, lots of structure and cover. Now it's just the two of us, maybe an occasional visitor, fishing once or twice a month. We're not removing enough population for a lake this size. Any suggestions for finding interested parties to help us manage population, remove and record what they take? I never thought we'd have a lack of people interested in fishing here. Where have all the fishermen gone... to Texas Reservoirs? No interest in private ponds these days?

Welcome to Pond Boss Fishfarmlady. Boy that seems like a great problem to have. Others will probably have much better ideas but here are a few that come to my mind:
1. A fishing derby. Make part of the rules that the fisherman have to record (on forms of your choice) information regarding any fish caught. You can set your own slot limits, etc. If you want to you could charge a fee and donate some of the proceeds to charity.
2. A boy scout or girl scout project to catch and record fish.
3. Probably some of the Pond Boss texas locals could help you out.
4. Bring out Bruce Condello. He averages 111.7 fish caught per hour. In a few hours he'd get the population whipped into submission.
We're glad ya found us FFL. Hang on for some better answers.
Oh and photos we love photos.

Try making contact with Derrick Stratton at Great Texas Bass Club, http://www.gtbc.com, I've been a member since '98. Great program for both landowner and fisherman.

To do it correctly, you will need to log the catches. That should tell you what kind of pressure to apply.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I have some good excel sheets if you would like to use them to track all your catches. I have a daily fishing sheet and a cumulative data sheet. Send me a PM with your email if you want the sheets (they also graph and calculate relative weight).
