No disguise will be necessary. You will, however, be required to sit in the "death wish" seat next to Howard the van driver. On the plus side, you will get to see the accident first. I accept. Years ago I rode a bus in Mexico on a winding mountain road at night. A few minutes into the ride the headlights went out on the bus. Didn't slow the driver down one bit. Plus I can't tell you how many times I have been forced to drive through LA traffic. I figure if you can survive those two events then bring on Howard.

Yep I have a bad memory but I will never forgot that "short bus" ride (just think it saved us six flags money and twice as scary) nor the great BBQ.
Debating on going, it is Dad's birthday on the 11th.

If you like baseball, and are looking for something fun to do after the conference each day, the Texas Rangers will be playing the Chicago White Sox. Friday, July 11th at 7:05 first 20,000 get a free ball cap, Saturday, July 12th at 6:05 with a post-game concert featuring the Eli Young Band. The Ballpark is only about 2 blocks from the Convention Center. Get tickets at texasrangers.com.

Doubtful, I'm flying in Wednesday, so if I'm not standing at the hotel bar by say 3:00 or 3:30 send out a search party. (emphasis on party).

Probably not, well unless of course your wearing someone elses B or B, then quite possibly yes.

Just a note a about the convention dates . . .
On page 72 of the latest and greatest PB magazine, it shows the convention being held on July 12 and 13.
(I'm hoping it is really on July 11 and 12, as that would much better suit our flight and hotel reservations.)
Also, last year we rented a car. But, we are thinking of just using the hotel shuttle this year. After hearing the stories, does this seem like a safe choice?

Perfectly safe, unless you're taking the one driver Sunil can bribe to drive out of bounds.
One note - last year, the shuttle bus didn't start running to the airport Sunday morning until 0800 (IIRC). Cody, Cecil, and I had earlier flights and had to use paid transport. If the same holds this year, one might take that into advisement when scheduling a flight home.

Hi Catmandoo, Don't worry  The conference is July 11-12th. So your plans are safe....Those other dates are typos. I have to tell you I don't even have the magazine at World Headquarters yet, we should get our shipment in today. You are one of the lucky ones. Thanks for catching that typo for us. Kathy

Be aware that the Sheraton stops running the van at 9:30 PM. Actually, they told us that we have to have our bags in hand before calling by 9:30 PM. We're going to stay at an airport hotel on Thursday night since we aren't supposed to get in until 10:30 PM. Also, see note by Theo above -- the shuttle doesn't start until 8:00 AM. Ken

FYI for the upcoming conference: Sheraton Arlington has blocked a few more "Double bed rooms for us" on Friday and Saturday, sorry there are no doubles available for Thursday night, only single (king beds). The hotel room block is only held until June 6th so book your rooms now....
