My CCs obviously didn’t consider the fact that it was Leap Year and thought yesterday was the first day of spring instead of today. These guys were caught using those nasty little GSF for bait while sitting on my favorite pond rock with the wind howling out of the north at 20 mph.

FT, where have you been?

No rain all fall, the ponds looked like S*&T and I got lost for a while on Shotgun World but I'm back. Plenty of rain since January and things look good for spring.

Pretty neat. Good looking fish. My cats are just now lethargically starting to move around.

I am curious about the "golden" CC. Is that a mutant, did you stock it, . . .???

I can't quite tell how big those are, but by using your fishing rod as a measure, I'm assuming they are 12-14 inches. How many people will that reasonably feed? (I put in 4-5 inchers last May that are now about 9-10 inches, and I'm wondering how long it will be before we can have a catfish fry!) If you don't mind a little prying -- what size were they when you put them in the pond, and how long were they in the pond?

Thanks,
Ken

Catmandoo, The largest two were 19 and 20 inches , I estimated them at 4 lbs. These were stocked Sept 06 @ 6-8". I think you could feed a family of 6 if they weren’t too hungry. The albino was stocked last spring and they all came from Overton's

FT,
Thanks, that is really encouraging. I don't think mine will grow quite as fast as yours, since our area is quite a bit cooler than where you are. But, just maybe by fall I can start pulling some out for dinner. I hope to put in fifty 10-12 inchers around early May to replace my winter trout.

Thanks again for the info,
Ken
