The weather here in SW Louisiana is great right now. Temps have been getting to the mid 70s during the day and may hit the low 80s this weekend. Whenever feeding my fish a few days ago, I noticed a few crawfish coming up along the edge of the bank. Naturally the cajun in me became curious about this, and made a call to a crawfish farmer friend of mine. He brought me over a few traps and I set them out just to see what was in there. Checked them out after a few hours and here are the results.

A nice size crawfish.

Not a bad catch for just a few hours of soaking.

And, the best thing of it all is that I had a few of my perch in the pond. They were stocked in December at 1-3" and looks like some good growth. I was nervous about not seeing many fish while feeding but it looks like they are doing well.

Perch? ;\)

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

My pond is in Perchville, but I have no perch. I feel so deprived. ;\)

Crawfish boil and beer at my house tomorrow at noon...Yup, it's spring time.

But....you know we are going to get that freak cold front right after I plant my garden. Happens every year.
