Pond filling is picking up speed now that water is coming in from the pipe running from the creek. There's about 9 feet of water in front of the dock, 10 or 11 feet at the deepest point. At this rate I expect water to be spilling into the drainpipe by the end of March.

Very nice! Looks quite a bit different than the first set of pictures you showed us, doesn't it?

What type of predators will you stock and when?

I'm keeping it simple at first - bluegill and largemouth this year. I want to see how successful I am at keeping a decent forage base. I may add HSB somehwere down the road.

RobA,
If you are looking for HSB in the future check out http://www.delmarvaaquatics.com
I was in contact with them last year and bought some for my uncles pond. the price was $40 for 100. They are much more fun to catch than LMB in my opinion. They are located in Delaware not far from you.

Thanks, Brian. I wasn't aware of Delmarva Aquatics. They are only about 15 minutes further away than my LMB/BG/FH supplier who doesn't supply HSB any more.

That's nice but why the white sand? Does that stop erosion or something? \:D

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Sand?? That's lime. I thought I read somewhere on this site that you should add lime to a pond.
