Hello.

Very rapid onset of laying.
2010- 2 April 43F
2012- 1 ¨¨¨¨ 42F
2020- 3 ¨¨¨¨ 47F

There are often a lot of eggs near the surface which could get stuck in the ice, if there is a heavy frost lasting several days.

What happens to these eggs.
Are all these eggs dead.

At the speed that it melts here I think I will have a fast spawning like in 2012.

I figure any egg that freezes or gets stuck in ice is dead.

Yes I also think frozen YP eggs will not hatch. Maye you can test that condition??
