I would like to add some more diversity to the food chain in my 3/4 acre pond. I just stocked it this spring and it is 18" from being full pool. I have FHM and GSH and papershell crayfish so far and also a ton of bullfrogs. both species of minnows have spawned successfully and not sure about crayfish because I never see them with all the structure , but stocked 75 last fall and 400 this july. I thought I had some spotfin shiners I could get but the guy said he didn't have any spawn show up in his minnow traps last week. I am located in west central ohio 5 minutes from Indiana line. I have YP, RES, HBG , HSB and SMB coming at end of October. smb will be 3-7".

anybody know where I could get spotfins or something else to add to the food chain. something within a two hour drive or so?

thanks
Xray, Bill Cody is aware of the suppliers of SFS in OH. I would PM him or maybe he will chime in. I don't know if they will pull off a spawn this summer yet, although it is possible. I think they slow down when water temps are under 70, although we are expecting a heat wave this week and the water temps might go above 70 again here.
thanks canyon, if bill doesn't respond in a couple days I will PM him. I figured he would be the one to know. I was just figuring on adding some this fall and then more in the spring for spawning next summer. figured this years spawning will be stopping soon.
if no SFS then maybe he or someone else would know another good forage item to add that can be sourced fairly close.

west central OH pretty vague. What town so I can calculate distances to suppliers of SFS?. Check your distance to Stryker OH.
