Hello All
I have a 1/2 acre pond in Upstate NY that usually spring fed when there isn’t a drought!
We added LMB, FHM, CCF this year.
We have a large water loss due to spring not running and in the sun all day.
I can get tankers of water from a reliable source. I’m wondering:

Will cold water (Approx. 54 degrees) addition to the pond shock the fish?
Any other issues I may not be aware of??

Thank you for any help πŸ™πŸ½

I doubt that you could get enough on a cost justified basis to help a 1/2 acre pond.

I can get 7000 gallons for 50.00. I thought that may be a good price

How deep is your pond? I think Dave above is suggesting a 1/2 acre pond can take a lot of water. Maybe half a million gallons.

The math says,

325,000 gallons per acre-foot. If your surface is one half acre, thats 162,500 gallons per foot of your water. 7000 gallons is (drumroll please) about one half inch of water in your pond. That is not much of a difference. Evaporation and transpiration will take more than that in a day I would guess. So to add one foot, you would need $1200 worth of tankers (23.2).

How do I close or delete a thread?

They live forever!!! But sooner or later it will fade into the pond abyss.
