Hey fellers, long time lurker just wanting to introduce myself. I own a 1/10 acre pond (hopefully dug to about 1 acre next year). When I bought the place it looked like chocolate milk and was full of mudcats and huge gizzard shad. Fast forward to last summer I shocked the pond with hydrated lime and as far as I could tell killed everything in it. I've also added about 1/2 ton ag lime. Ive bucked stocked about 25 bluegill, 7-8 red ear and 5 14 inch LMB from the neches river. Currently hand feeding optimal once a day if I can. Pond is doing great except for my first fa bloom and I recently spotted bg and lmb fry. Anyways thanks for all the information on here I've spent many 12 hour shifts reading through this forum.

Welcome Dkpeppers sounds like you have a good start on everything. Do you have any pictures of your pond?

Thanks, I'll take some today, it still needs a lot of work but I'm happy with the direction it's going. I do have a pretty bad fa bloom right now but I expected that since it was a stock tank till last summer and this is the first year the light has reached the bottom in probably 6 years.
