Hi all - trying to revitalize a pond that used to have a killer BG fishery. Pond is decades old, ~4' deep through 75% of the pond with a few deeper holes. Think we had winterkill maybe 7-8 years ago. Installed aeration last fall and started bacteria/muck pellets/dye this spring. Would I be wise to just start stocking BG this summer, or would you start with FHM to ensure a forage base? Would also like to add a few LMB down the road for some catch and release fishing, and hopefully help keep the BG population in check.

Should also add, have some fairly thick American pondweed for cover through most of the pond.

Thanks in advance, great forum here!

Yes on the FHM, regarding the LMB, if you want a killer BG fishery, take out (remove) any LMB you catch that is over 14" long.
