Is there a turtle that would live in my Northern Utah pond? Its spring fed with a more or less constant temperature in the 50s, it does not freeze in winter, but doesn't get warm in the summer either.

I know there are turtles that survive colder winter conditions, its the lack of warm summer water that worries me. There are plenty of places for the turtles to sun, and we get a lot of nice warm sun.

I am not a turtle expert but FWIW the only turtle I know of that might make it is the spotted turtle. They survive in Canada and can handle pretty cold water. They don't get very big, maybe 5 inches or so. Of course, then you have the problem of sourcing....

the painted turtle has range clear into Canada and can do 7000 ft.
