Somehow stumbled (thanks, Google) across this great primer on fish ponds from... the Fisheries and Aquaculture Organization of the United Nations. Surprised me, too.

I had to play around for a while to figure out how to access all 12 sections and I still can't figure out how to drill down into it - or any other courses - from fao.org. It's oriented toward building fish farm ponds, but lots and lots of practical, non-academic info here on everything from water requirements to construction to discharge/control structures.

Direct links to each section below. My website downloader isn't working, so if someone would download all of these and zip them up for us, that would be great (in case we lose access to these pages in the future).

Happy fishing!

And for the academically inclined, here is a link to "Inland Aquaculture Engineering."
