Does anybody have a trampoline in their backyard? I was thinking of getting one, I have even decided to invest more money and get a Springfree trampoline I have found on the Hop Trampoline site, but before I go and buy it, I wanted to hear what are your real experiences with them? What do you do to them during winter? Do you just leave them outside or reassemble it and then put it back together when it is warm?

They aren't insurance friendly. They are also not an investment, but a liability.

We have had one for many years. Our kids love it. Stays up all year. Ours does have the "net wall" all the way around it so a kid can't fall off.

We have had 2 of them. The 1st one ended up in our swimming pool because it wasn't tied down ( wife told me this). The 2nd one was tied down with 6' rebar and cork screws. It flew threw the air in a storm and 1 post came a foot and a half into are closet. The rebar and cork screw still attached (guess the wife was wrong). Don't tell her I said that LOL. I told her if we do another it will be buried underground. Look them up they are actually pretty cool. Just my 2 cents.

+1 - kids love ours which was picked up for free from a friend. We routinely face 50-75 MPH winds in NE and ours has never budged, but a few anchors wouldn't hurt. We have zero reservations with ours but also don't have any other kids using it so I've never been concerned regarding liability issues. We leave it outdoors all year, snow, ice, rain, temperature extremes have never caused any issues.

One of the daughters in a local family injured her neck on a trampoline a couple years ago. Interfered with her ability to speak.

Very dangerous ! Had one and my kids got out a 10 ft ladder and jumped from the top on to the trampoline and went flying off the far side.

We had one for 5-6 years. Kids loved it. Just got retired this past December due to (finally) rotting away the tramp surface.

I won't get another one but I don't regret having one. The kids had a ball on it.

I grew up on trampolines as a kid...pretty hard to get hurt if one is simply jumping...it's when the wrestling matches and dirt clods started flying that injuries seemed to occur.

Some days ago I bought a Skywalker 15 foot round trampoline for my family. It's quite good. You can find a lot of recommendations in the internet. https://dartgoals.com/best-trampolines-for-families/ this guide helps me to choose the best one for my family.
My personal recommendation is to go for skywalker if you have toddlers. But if you have elder age children then go for Merax. Because it comes with a basketball hoop.

Loved jumping on a trampoline when I was a kid. Of course, back then we played with mercury in our bare hands.

we have a 14' with net that prevents any contact with springs

Best feature is adding a sprinkler/mister for hot days

My kiddo loved them, but never got one as it would have been just him. However, he got his back messed up when he was on one with a bunch of teenagers who sprung him completely up and over the guard nets and flat on his back. He got up and played more, didn't even cry, but his back is always bugging him now.

I used to love trampolines. But once there was a case: a snake crawled into the trampoline and got stuck between the fabric. When the child started jumping, the snake crawled out and bit the child. Fortunately, everything ended well, but I will not buy a trampoline again
