I'm sure this has been answered and discussed but didn't have anything jump out when I did a quick search. What material is the go to for the stand pipe/overflow? My pond guy said they typically use ductile iron. Another guy who had one put in recently near me used aluminum. Just thought I would get some options from here as well to see what people have had the best luck with. Thanks

Size matters!

I am definitely NOT an expert, but I think PVC is the cheapest and easiest to work with in the smaller sizes. The rules change as the pipe diameter gets larger.

Can you post your expected diameter and run length? You might then get some expert advice.

If you post your actual overflow design, then somebody might even have a good suggestion to save you money and/or time.

I've seen PVC, Corrugated pipe (Not recommended), ductile iron and concrete.
