I just completed an awesome forest pond. Everything worked out so far. 45x100x10. Soil was very very high in clay content. Spring feeding it is running nearly 50 gpm even in our current drought. Now it’s time to plant the area around the pond with some grass to keep it from washing. I’m located in Eastern Canada. Does anyone have recommendations on what to plant around the perimeter of my pond in clay soil?
I’m thinking a rye grass clover mix??

You may want to check the Ph of the soil before planting anything.
Forest soils can become to acidic to grow things well.
Be prepared to spread some lime to neutralize the soil.
