New dam built, what type of grass or vegetation would you plant on the slope that will eventually be underwater?
Hi Nate! My post on erosion control efforts may be helpful. I ended up spending around 6k for a 2 acre area. I used cool season grasses as they grow faster than warm season grasses and I was also headed into Autumn. I believe I used brome, rye, oats and fescue but the post will detail that. Call me with questions.

OATS, grows like crazy and is very cheap.

I second the Oats, and probably would secondary seed with Rye depending on the temps, predicted rainfall and how fast it would be covered with water.
Is it still cool enough to get seed to germinate and stay alive? You might have to pump some water into a nozzle.

Being that I live in roughly the same area as Nate water is a problem right now, too much of it.

It's my fault Nate, ever since I built my pond the water has stopped.

What drought? My pond is almost full and only 4 weeks after finishing repairs. We had 12+" of rain since the middle of July, with 3.5" of that last week. I need it to dry out enough so I can plant grass. Getting way to much erosion. It may be dry enough today, but living 200 miles away and rain predict Friday night into Saturday I going to wait and see what happens before coming down.

We've had less than .75 of rain since the end of June. Way below average.

2 inches here, 1/2 at a time since the 3rd week in June, so 2 inches in 2 months.
