Normally I’m working 7 days a week this time of the year to get our hay up, but we had enough rain that I got a day off.
I fished our old pond. Really happy to see the bluegills.

I caught a pile of small bass of all sizes.

I only managed to land one big bass.

A little thin, but our males just stopped guarding the fry. The younger bass seem to be in good shape, so I’m blaming this on the spawn.

I caught some big crappie, but no small ones. Pretty sure they are just helping feed the bass.

Another decent bluegill.

And a surprise.

I put a few trout in this spring, because I thought the old ones were gone. I was wrong. Not a great picture, but probably 22 inches. Mostly concerned with getting him back in the water.

Outstanding report!!!

I always felt one of the joys of having a diverse pond was never really knowing what you might hook into.
