Afternoon fellas! And gals!

I have started my pond renovation. Backstory, I bought a property with a 3 acre pond on it. Completely overgrown with different vegetation. I have found it’s Alligatorweed and I have used RM43 on the sections I could to kill it. I have now found that where it was grown up in the middle of the pond, it has created floating islands of debris and mud and roots. I will attach pictures. Do you have any recommendation on getting rid of the mats?

I eventually want to get fish and things in the pond so any recommendations for anything else you see will help too. Very new to this.

Man that's a MESS. I don't know, some type of a excavator, specialized for your part of the world. My comment will bring your question back to the top for you. Welcome to Pond Boss ! Hopefully give time for someone with similar experience to see your entry.

What do you have in the line of heavy equipment to work with? At the very least you will need a 4" semi-trash pump if you can pump water out and away, and a long stick excavator. Having an off-road dump truck will help greatly.

You will have to make a plan how deep you want to get it, and have a place to put all the "stuff" that you dig out of there.

You most likely will have to spray it 6 months after you are finished getting all the "stuff" out of there to help stop it from coming back.
