After a lot of research from here and other place I finally started my pond. Wanted to thank you guys for posting your opinions on everyone's questions. The archives rock here.
Some information on the pond.
It's being dug in a lower spot in the feild with the clay percentage runing from 19 to 38. I sent in about 10 samples from 3 places at 2',8' and 15'.
Slopes for the first 6 to 8 feet of water will be between 3:1 and bare minimum 2:1. Then it will have a shelf then go to a 1:1 to 1.5:1. I figured the unexcavated clay will hold a 1:1. It's a .5 acer B shaped groundwater pond with one side being for swimming and the other undisturbed area for fish and aerator.
Max depth will be 15 to 18' deep and the swimming area 12' to 15' deep.
There is going to be a small beach on the other side with a 4:1 slope.
I am hoping to have a perch small mouth bass pond and throw in a few walleyes. If that doesn't work then I can always throw some bluegills in there but that is if I can't get the perch going. Welcome to the forum! You should try to source some Pumpkinseed Sunfish for the pond, and while it's still not full make sure to get cover in there for the fish. You will want brush like Christmas Trees with 2'-4' of water over the upper most branches of them - the Yellow Perch will utilize them for spawning.

esshup - Are you aware of a source of pumpkinseed in Indiana? I still only have FHM and lake chubsucker in my 3rd pond. 4th pond is filling slowly with the limited rain so far.

I am not sure on where I am going to get the fish as of yet but I will have to see if I can get some pumpkinseed. There is a guy down the road that picks up everyone's Christmas trees after Christmas. I will stop by and see if I can get a few. Thanks for the tip. Do pumpkinseed nip like bluegill?
Also I am going to see if there is someone that sells pellet trained perch. I read on here that is a good idea.

No, the only way I know to get them is to go catch them yourself. I have a customer that has some in his ponds, I will try to get a small pond stocked with them here as soon as I get a small one here to hold water.

If we were closer, I would suggest we work something out where you could collect offspring from my pond.

You aren't THAT far away, last week I installed the repaired aeration system and added a diffuser to a pond in Delphi and did a pond consultation in Monrovia.

But with the recent jump in diesel price I have to keep an eye on mileage. Jumped from $3,39 to $4.05 this morning.

About 2.5 hours between New Ross and Grovertown. I consider a drive to Monrovia a long trip LOL. If you are in my area and want to visit, let me know. I do hunt in the morning till about 9, and head back out at 5 (unless I am working). You might be interested in casting a line for SMB now that that things are cooling down.

One customer has a farm with a deep population problem. It's 89 miles, 1 hr 40 minutes. I'll drive there for an evening hunt to remove some does.

Here is a pic of the slope with the shelf I was talking about. It is going to be dug deeper then the current bottom. As it sits right now that would be 6 to 7 feet of water if we left it.
