Kinda a silly question but I just had a dozer level off the watershed side of my pond. Filled in all ruts and covered with topsoil. Only 3 days ago I spread winter rye grass seed and covered it with hay. I have watered it every day and it is ALREADY an inch tall!!! My question is...how do I get in there to water it now without stomping the new tender grass or dragging a heavy waterhose over it? If it is an inch tall is it already rooted strong enough to be "manipulated"?? The ground is still moist and our air temps are getting in the upper 70's each day. Should I just stay off of it for a couple more days and don't water? Just hate to tear up all my hard work!!
2-3" if it is being well watered and has good sun exposure - rye is pretty hearty. I wouldn't be driving an atv with aggressive tires over it yet though haha
