My in-laws have a new 1.5 acre pond. They had a party this weekend and there were a bunch of people swimming in the pond. One of the issues is that the whole perimeter is pretty thick mud and it isn't comfortable wading through the mud to wade out. Any ideas for building an area to wade out? They are building a dock with a ladder, so that would be one way to avoid the mud, but we still want another entry point off shore. Any ideas?

Thanks

Gangway and floating dock is the way to go IMO.

You can build a sand beach beside the dock. Several threads here on how to do so.

Agree with RAH... My wife and kids wouldn't swim until I build a floating dock so they wouldn't have to touch the "yucky" clay

If you use shell grit zise 5-10mm preferably on top of geotextile, the layer should be 12-15cm(5-6 inch) thick, you will get a nice beach like entry point that lasts 10-15 years it will also be a nice Ph buffer for the pond.
This is all pics of beaches buildt as described in the sea and ponds
