Good example of what can happen in extreme food rich conditions. Fish seem to grow so long as there is plenty to eat, which is why we now see 1.5 to 2 lb bluegill show up in artificially fed waters.

It's not real distinct in that photo, but I see a lighter edge to the opercule. That, and the body coloring, and the dots on the gill - it's a Redear.

All of the big RES pictures I've seen from Havasu appear to have female characteristics, does that mean female RES have better overall size potential than males?
