Quite a rain that came with the tornado that hit Bowie Texas last night. The whirlwind went North of my place and hit the town. I drove around the town for awhile today. I didn’t see it all but mostly it was big trees down and, in some cases, on buildings. Lots of shingles and metal off houses and businesses.

Best cafe in town caught on fire and is history.

I’ve owned the place for almost 40 years and never had a rain that size. Some roads to repair with rocks due to washouts.

Since I don’t live there, no idea how long it took to get the rain.

I’m glad you’re OK! That’s terrifying.

Glad you’re ok David - hope Bowie residents are likewise safe.

This has been a bad year for tornadoes, Dave. Glad you are okay!

We had a tornado hit our place last month. Lost a few dozen big trees but that was it. I was a half mile away when it went through but had no idea.

I'm sorry thats bragging for some of ya's. Guess the saying about texas isn't true after all.

Old saying in Texas. It ain’t bragging if you can do it, have done it, or have it.

Wow Dave, that is a lot of rain! How did your pond handle it?
Posted By: Dave Davidson1 Re: 8.66 inches - 05/29/20 02:40 AM
Ponds did well. Of course, I now have ponds in places that have seldom been wet. My creek got about 6 ft higher than normal for a short time. Had to get out tractor and FEL to haul rocks to washed out areas on road. I almost lost it (as in flipping over) on a 4 wheeler this morning before doing repairs..

For a short time, my water holes look like they are in East Texas.

Dave you ain’t no spring chicken, don’t be a flipping those 4 wheelers over. Glad you ok!

Yep Pat, that's what sent me for the tractor.
