It came in a hurry but got only minor problems from washouts of roads. It’s still running in and out of the ponds. Creek got about 3 or so feet out of the banks.

Lots of suspended sand and junk. Not many of my remaining fish came to feed. No idea whether the cormorants returned.

BTW, the + is because I only have a 6 inch rain gauge.

As of 8am this morning 5/4/2019 we have already had 26 3/4 inches of rain!! In only 1/3rd of a year!! Pond has basically been at full pool since the first week of December 2018...longest ever!! 5 months!!

Wow! That is crazy! I think I am going to be looking at a similar scenario this "Spring" - relative to our location. We still have a massive amount of snow and the runoff is probably going to be impressive! Colorado SnoTel says there is currently over 400% more snow on the ground yesterday as there was the same date last year.

yep, pond has been full+ some for quite awhile now. But after several years of drought and last year where I very little rain from last June to Dec. I am not going to complain a bit even though I stuck the side by side yesterday.

30 inches at my place so far in 2019.

I hate to say it, but I'm kinda glad all that rain has skirted further north this year. We've had more than our fare share the last couple of years.

Spent about 10 hours recently spraying poison oak eruptions around 4 wheeler roads/trails. I’m beat. I no longer have roads that a pickup can go through. Thank the rains for vegetation, tree limbs and some really good rains this year

Most of the Midwest is in the same boat - we've had just over 7" in the last week or so. Some of the riverfront areas around Alton IL are reporting flood levels higher than the flood of '93.

On a positive note my emergency overflow coupled with the larger culvert kept everything on my place pretty much where it was supposed to be. TONS of dead smallish BG in the grass downstream of the emergency overflow, but that's pretty much it here.

I ran out to the farm yesterday, 05/10/19 and poured over 6" out of my gauge and its raining like crazy again.

Lance, looks like I will be postponing my fish delivery again Monday. I also got that 6+" rain. I got so much that it sunk my boat that I had pulled up to the shoreline. Had to drag it out with my side by side. And looks like I will taking the canoe to the lakehouse on Caddo today to check on things. Tornado took out the telephone poles on the rd to the lakehouse.

We hardly ever get any rain in April but this year we have had more than anybody can ever remember.

Tracy I got where I turn over my boats on the bank to avoid bailing them out

I have some BG left but am getting 300 more from Lusk,s guys. The other day I stocked 15 pounds of fatheads and 20 four to six inch hsb. Lmb next year.

Wow......when did that happen?

We received just over 1.5" of rain in the past week. Newer pond is full, running over. Old leaker lacks 6.5 inches being full.

My emergency spillway worked fine, but I also had hundreds of YOY CNBG left high & dry when their escape route dwindled.

I can't even get 6" of rain over a whole week this year, that's about all I get in a month so far this year. I think about 1.65" is the most I've got in a 24 hour period this year.

Since Friday afternoon my rain gauge has measured 9+". The pond was out of its banks Saturday morning and running across the yard about 8" deep. I think the pond may have gotten at least a 50% flush of new water. Still have reasonable color from the dye application I did two weeks ago, but I think I'm gonna have to add a bit.

I had left one of my cloverleaf traps on the bank with the bottle still loaded with bait and the water was high enough that it had BG stranded in the trap when the water drained off.

Wind blew so hard it pushed water under the lid of the Black Soldier Fly generator lid and dampened things up quite a bit. They seem to have survived ok, but the cooler temps have definitely reduced their activity.

I now have to update my annual rain so far to 32 3/4 inch so far this year!!!
Posted By: Dave Davidson1 Re: 6+ inches of rain - 05/15/19 10:16 AM
Another 2.1 inches. Stocked 300 replacement bg to replace the cormorant feeding spree.

My spring and summer food plots are in the planting stage now. It's about a month late from our normal planting time because of all the rain and we are having a tough time to get to some of the areas due to a washed out bridge caused by the heavy rains recently. I am also concerned that if we get one last rain this coming weekend to sprout the seeds then we may not get enough rain after that to establish a deep root system before our normal dry season starts at or around June 1st. And that will cause the plants to do poorly. Our dry season starts around June first every year.

We don’t normally get any rain in April or May so we can’t depend on getting a food plot in the spring...... would have done well this year
