Where did I say ANYTHING political in this Job Numbers post???

My smart as a whip DIL is having a hard time finding a job so this hits home.

While the post wasn't political *per se*, keeping politics out of it while discussing what you posted might be difficult.

Just as a warning to everyone who feels that they need to type a reply, any hint of political content in a posting will bring a quick deletion to this thread.

I blame the bad jobs number on GBH...between them and muskrats they seem to cause almost all the problems of the World most days...

dlowrance....I think my tilapia will be unemployed come december!

I am surprised that with them overwintering every year the predators are keeping the number in check. I have some 5 pounder big ones but the numbers dont seem to be growing expontially and small ones are seen but ar usually only ones or two at a time. I know those big things are making babies like crazy, so something is eating them.

While it is easy to give in to the inclination to blame the GBH for everything and anything, I submit that the true source of our economic troubles has roots deeper and more nefarious, and in support of this hypothesis submit the following:

June 2008: Sparkplug joins PBF and immediately promotes and agitates for widespread acceptance of HBG by all forum members.

Septimeber 2008: Lehman Brothers bankruptcy and global banking crisis.

2008---->Present: Economy dithers, wage growth stagnant, but 1% kicks butt.

2008---->Present: Sparkie continues to advocate for "improved" bream.

I just don't see how that can be a coincidence.

Mark,
My Tilapia are getting new "free housing" for the winter. That's right Tilopitopia 3.0 is in the works!!!

On another note, otter stock is down as is beaver stock!!

Oh,
and we had 10 GBH's at the big pond yesterday morning until I suggested they go to public waters.

Whew that was close. For a minute there I thought Yolk was referring to this Lehman's: https://www.lehmans.com/

Thought I was going to have to locate another source of spare parts for my cow pie powered toaster.

You're a sly one, Yolk. But you're too late... my convoluted and diabolical master plan is in the final stage. Soon, the Cyanellus Eventuality will assimilate all other lepomids, leaving only hybrids in their place. Glorious.

I think Yolk is on to something tho.

June 6th, I get some HBG.

July 7th, our charter on LM is canceled.

August 26th, canceled again.

September 8th, a third cancellation.

If October 10th get's canceled, then I know it has something to do with the HBG.

I'm thinking if I get some YP on the 9th, that may override the HBG curse and we'll be on the lake for sure!!!

Oh yeah, that's when all this medical BS started as well.

wink

Oh crap. I guess it goes without saying that resistance is futile.

Well there you go, it's a well known fact that HBG result in higher health insurance premiums, though not as much as having stocked RES. Just look at what has happened to health insurance costs since 2008.....you can thank Sparkie for that one, too.

My tilapia will be going before the infamous "death panels" within 3 months.

Well ... crazy

Same here with the rain. Thankfully, it has been a very nice gentle rain since yesterday morning here in the Winchester, VA area. We've gotten about 2-1/2 inches of rain since yesterday morning, and we expect about another 2 inches by tomorrow night. It is gentle and slow enough that we aren't seeing erosion. No wind either. We lucked out.

I would like to see the ground get soggy so I can push over a number of trees and get the roots.

I hate cutting trees down and leaving a stump if I don't have to.

JKB,
Be sure you get lots of footage, candid shots or otherwise of your charter outing. I'm sure many here would love to see a mini documentary of what big lake fishing is like. Is this the makeup for the charter that was supposed to happen with Keith and our friend from Turkey?

Hoping you have a good charter!

Been trying to get out since the 1st on July 7th, but sure has been rough this year. Weather has happened with winds that drive waves to 10+ feet and thunderstorms that have lightening. Not good fishing scenarios at all.

October 10th is the last shot for this year, which is a Saturday. Have room on the boat if you want to hit it? No cost, just show up if it goes out. Hopefully it will. Told Captain Denny we're gonna hit it unless he thinks his boat will sink. Could be rainy, cold and miserable, but I sure would want to hit the fresher fish out a ways than the ones buzzing up the rivers to spawn. Let me know.

Mudhole, My Tilapia get free housing. They are in huge, very structured schools. Yet, the housing projects are so over crowded, there is constant fighting and murders. The accommodations are top notch and modern, with copious amounts of cash poured into the system. While the free lunch program grows the kids fast and appears to be a success, with no physical education program, they become so fat and lazy they're eating anything and everything all day long Including each other.

Without learning any self discipline, the reproduction rates just go off the charts, adding more and more mouths to feed and leading to more over crowding and carnage! You should see the violence at feeding time!

In an attempt to restore order, 1000's of the meanest and hungriest are rounded up each spring and banished from the free services and forced to forage for themselves. Sadly, so many ignored what was taught in school, never learned basic rules of survival without all the subsidizing and perish from the cold. Thank goodness they don't use phones...yet!

Personally, I think Highflyer is just too soft hearted by providing more free housing, adding free heat and even oxygen bars for them to hang out in.

Don't even get me started on the costs of the "free" healthcare these fish get!

The ONLY bright spot about overly dependent Tilapia, they LOVE knocking the snot outta HBG!
Posted By: sprkplug Re: Jobs Numbers Down....... - 10/03/15 12:22 PM
As if any of us would believe a salad-consuming, cold-intolerant, preyed-upon-by-everything species like Tilapia could knock the snot out of anything. wink You probably HAD to install an air ride on that new truck just to keep them from bruising so easily during transport. grin

Hey, what's this green stuff on my pond???
Posted By: sprkplug Re: Jobs Numbers Down....... - 10/03/15 03:00 PM
My guess is Tilapia barf. With their delicate constitutions, it probably wouldn't take much to cause a reversal. whistle

Do you recon its the schooling- what kind did they get ? State school , home school,
street school, old school or common core ? Large schools or small. Maybe more $ would help.

Due to the lack of predators some of my FHM may have to relocate to find other population control if not they all will be out of work
