After careful consideration, I now know that everyone I thought was wearing a hairpiece might not have been.

I was 19 and Gail 17. At least my plastic rimmed glasses are still in style!

Every generation's "Hair" is weird to the next and previous generation.

Congratulations Dwight and Gail, that is fantastic.

Wait one minute, Dwight really looks familiar. I can't quite seem to place it.

For some reason I keep hearing lyrics in my head while looking at his photo. Wait it's coming to me.

"Well that'll be the day when you say goodbye...."

All kidding aside a heartfelt congratulations, that is quite an accomplishment!

Congratulations Dwight and Gail .... \:\)
My child bride was 19 when we "tied the "knot" 57 years ago and still the love of my life.
Posted By: Dwight Re: They said, "It will never last". - 08/13/08 02:09 PM
George, You have set the bar up there pretty high, 57 years!

There is a problem with putting the age we were when we were married along with the number of years we have been married out here. People can figure out how old we really are. \:\(

Holy cow. I had just turned 2!! Congratulations!!!

Dwight, I just noticed we have the same BD, june 12. Also, our wedding date is Aug. 30, 1 day before yours, but 1 yr after(1969). I took a military hop from Baltimore to NOLA; we got hitched labor day long weekend and drove up from small town Miss. to northern Maryland. Traveling long distances in a short time and having kids is definitely for the young.

Wishing youse guys continued bliss.

We have some numbers going here!

What was your age at hitching-time? (I will keep it a secret) \:\)

class of '65. Never flunked nor got excelerated. These kids can never figure that one out.

I have another weird coincidence. I met a guy through fishing who's wife has the same name as mine and they got married on the same day and year! Add to that we are the same age up to the month. And he had the same make and model car complete with the same color once.

However that's where the similarity ends. He's a millionaire -- I'm not. \:\(

That is weird. Was there an echo in the church when you said 'I do'?

I wouldn't have noticed. I was too nervous.

I did play guitar at a wedding once where one of the chandelier lights came loose from the ceiling and crashed down in the center aisle. This was just after everyone left the church. It would have killed somebody. Kind of weird I thought.

But this is Dwight's thread... Sorry Dwight!

We had our 40th anniversary party next to Bremer Pond today. It was sunny, 86 degrees with a 20-25 mph breeze coming across the pond.

Family and friends, great food and drink, and much merriment were enjoyed by all!

The Collinator trashed one of the outside cats with repeated screaming shudder-blasts and double hand-slap-hair-grabs. After the noise subsided and the threat went home, Buford(the cat) was happily purring next to me. Buford had a bit of a Punk Rocker hair deal going on though.

I made it 21 years with my entry level wife and, so far, have 17 with my current one. I can't top any of this stuff by adding it all up.

Dave, There is a TV show about your starter wife. Is that really her? \:D

It takes a good woman to "love, honor and obey" a man for more than 40 years ....
OH - they don't say that anymore...
CONGRATULATIONS Gail and Dwight.... \:\)
