i have a pond it is leaking under an old drain line. i just recently filled this pond & it's dropping about 1 to 2 inches per 12 hours. my question is will sodium bentonite help or stop this seepage.

that's a pretty good amount of water,4 inches in 24 hours.can you get to pipe?to answer your question i don't think bentonite will fix this leak unless you can really get to the pipe.if you can get to the leak i would try this first.my guess is you will have to drain pond down some if not pretty much all the way and change pipe out.we had the same problem two years ago,we put dirt in front of overflow pipe(built small levee)and dug up old pipe and replaced with new pipe.we left the temp. levee in place for about 4-5 weeks to get dirt to settle around new pipe real good then took the small levee out.worked great for us.

I CAN GET TO THE PIPE WHEN THE POND DRAINS DOWN I'LL SEE WHAT I CAN DO. IF NOTHING ELSE WORKS YOUR SUGGESTION ON BULDING A TEMP. LEVEE AROUND THE OVERFLOW SOUNDS GOOD.

THANKS
