I read in a magazine that they are tring to make it legal to shoot Cormorants. Just wondering if anyone has any information on this.

Where are you located? They are much easier to get away with shooting in the south. We have over 5000 mating pairs on an island here in Wisconsin and they are highly protected. I know you can get shooting permits in some southern states.

I'm located in Texas. Why i ask is because over the years some of the birds have began to stay here year around. They have knocked holes into my fish populations and want them to leave. I guess its ok for them to stay because its nature's way for balance.

Here in Wisconsin they do not balance fish populations they destroy them. Cormorants are one of the reasons the perch population has dropped by 90% in the last 5 years.
