One of my ponds seems to have an infinite variety of BG-GSF hybrids. What would you say the top one in this photo is?
Top fish in photo is a pure strain bluegill but a little stunted and lackind adequate food. The BG has all the outward characteristics of a pure strain BG. Bottom fish looks like a normal green sunfish (GSF).
Bottom is BG and top one is a pretty hybrid BG. Both eyes indicate more are growing close to normal rate, maybe slight stunting. Remember -- a pure strain BG (male and female) will always have a pure ALL black ear(gill) flap with no color nor light hue margin.
