As you all know, we had UBB update the software. Being a fish guy, not too willing to understand the tech side of software (all I want to do is use it), I figured our problems would be automatically solved, pictures would be posted and we'd be good. But no...it doesn't work that way. Tried to get UBB to work with our host, and vice versa, but they don't speak the same language. Either that or they aren't willing to hold hands to get across this street. LeighAnn did some homework and it seemed obvious to a decision-maker. Let UBB host the forum. Heck, it's their software. Why not? Because there are additional fees? Of course there are. But, seems the best answer, so we are now working to have UBB host the forum and keep the server for the rest of the website, our email addresses, e-store, content. LeighAnn is doing the homework, we'll let you know how it goes.
Thank you for the update. We can download them to imgur (which is free) and post them from there. Just my opinion but i keep my pictures set to hidden on imgur. Some people some some foolish things on there.
Thanks Bob and LeighAnn.
Everyone being able to more easily post images should really enhance the forum.
Yes Sir; WE ALL AGREE TO THIS - "Everyone being able to more easily post images should really enhance the forum."
Bill...a picture paints a thousand words.
I approve of this message.
I love sharing pictures and this will make it easier.
Thank you!
Hey everyone!
The server switch has happened and you should be able to see pictures now.
I appreciate your patience during this time. It was a doozy! If you see any problems, please email me at leighann@pondboss.com. I'll do my best to get it fixed. Now that UBBCentral Threads (forum software company) is hosting our forum, we should have easier access to getting problems addressed.
Thanks for being a part of the Pond Boss family!
LeighAnn
Thank you all for making this happen.
My work network immediately labeled this new address as dangerous or spam and blocked it. Any advice? Web address didn't change so is it a ip address risk category or a security certificate program? Thanks
I can see thumbnails on the right margin of the new forum where it says 'newly uploaded pictures'. I can't load the full pictures from my home computer (without security filters or ad blockers). IS anyone having luck loading the full images on this web page?

I can click the "newly uploaded pictures" and see them fine. Your link to "Sunday Patrol" works, but the photos do NOT. AND, the Search funtion is missing now.
QA, the search function is right under your username in the right top corner. Looks like a little magnifying glass.
Thanks AL, good thing it was not a snake.
No problem. I had to hunt for it a day or 2 ago.
Can Leigh help with web category? It appears that opendns. A common dns filter is flagging this forum page as dangerous malware.
CC, no clue what openDNS is, so maybe you should send that info to Leigh Ann @ leighann@pondboss.com. I'm assuming the ip address would change since PB changed hosts, and IIRC that can take several days to populate correctly. At least it used to.
Sent this info to her in another thread. reposting here, will email her too. Thanks
Would love to see if the list of recent posts in the upper right could be expanded more. That was my go to method for seeing what I missed and when we had about 10-12 posts there it usually covered all the new posts for that day. Not sure how else to see 'new things since I logged on last' in the new forum look? Any suggestions?
repost of ideas for others to help with:
LeighAnn,
Sorry for the same post in 2 threads. My Google Chrome browser is flagging this site (forum.pondboss.com) as not secure. IF users are on chrome and they look just to the left of the address in the address bar on top they will see a red triangle with exclamation point in it. It says 'NOT SECURE' It doesn't specify why (some web savvy folks on this forum can probably easily poke around under the hood and tell us why) The general categories of why this happens is usually that a web page certificate of security is not appropriately signed, or out of date, or not signed by a proper trusted security organization and therefore flagged. There can be other categories too.
One possibility which is more likely here is a certificate address mismatch. This means the current security certificate that is being offered when users go to this page ties to the old forum page and therefore the addresses current and past do not match. It probably is a simple thing to either change the link we click on that brings us to the forum to redirect to a new page that matches the certificate or the opposite fix, of getting a new certificate that matches the current address of where the website is hosted. Can you relay these concerns to the web masters?
Another possibility is that the main address does not use the httpS address but only using http
Finally, chrome will flag sites that do not provide encrypted data in their transmission.
That is about all I know about it and hopefully someone else can take it from here?
Probably just needs a new cert generated.
CC that's my goto also is the recent posts. It would be nice if could set the number ourselves. This might help some. When I was under active threads I set that page as a favorite.
Good morning, guys
The "recent posts" island has been fixed. Still working with the software company to address the other issues.
Thank you for your patience.
LeighAnn
Thank You very much im sure this has been a pain in the back side for ya.
THANK YOU THANK YOU LEIGH Just having the recent post list expanded is very helpful.
Can you explain what the LIKES is all about?
RS,
If you click the "Like" button it gives you this explanation...
"If a specific post was interesting or useful to you, we recommend that you Like that post. It tells the post author, and others, that you found the information valuable. Clicking Like is another way to let others know that you enjoy it without leaving a comment."
and below that is the option to actaully "like" the post AND, as you can see in your post, I have "liked" your post.
It's not really that great of a function, but many forums do it and it does allow someone to "like" the stuff you said without spending much effort to do so. It takes the place of me having to post back saying "I agree with RS".
