Does anyone on the forum know of a company that makes a fish feeder that feeds small particle sizes. I currently feed optimal 0, 2, and 4 by hand daily, but normally only have the chance to feed once a day and was wanting to increase my numbers of feedings. Thanks.

I do not know of an off-ther-shelf auto-feeder for smaller feeds outside of home aquarium sized units, but they are not meant to be outdoors.

However, I have had good luck using the "Moultrie All-in-One Deer Feeder Timer Kit" part number MFHP12367. It can be mounted to the bottom of a bucket (or whatever) and the outlet hole can be drilled in the bucket to moderate the flow of your sized feed. The feed cone on the unit is ideal for corn, so using a smaller hole than the largest part of the cone would work better for smaller feed. Just to be safe, I would start with a smaller hole than you would think would work and open it up as you tested your feed sizes if it needed to be bigger. I have have used these timer kits for my fish feeding and deer feeding for a few years now and really like them. The only problem I have had is with the plastic buckets when used to feed the deer...the raccons and squirels are not kind to them and I had to use a steel bucket and lid to keep them from chewing holes in them.

The smaller food that you are feeding may be a bit more tricky to govern out of the bucket than drilling a smaller hole. I can see where a smaller cone might have to be used to get closer to the spinning feed slinger thingy so that the feed does not continuously run out of the feeder, but that's all in a afternoon if you have some gorilla glue and a few $1 funnels from the parts store.

They can be purchased anywhere from 25 to 40$ depending on what time of year you purchase. The closer to deer season, the more expensive. Amazon and EBay are where I find the best deals.

I like the idea of that. I think it could work for size 4 starter for sure and possibly size 2 starter pellets. My only problems I think would be as you mentioned keeping the varmints away and keeping it from gumming up when the mouth of the feeder gets wet. Which I think would be my main problem. Either way if I made it and it didn't work out as planned I could just use it as a deer feeder.

I may try to make one simply to have an additional normal feeder at a different location in my pond. I currently have a Texas Hunter Feeder which works great, but I was also wanting a second feeder on a shallow portion of my pond. But I wasn't wanting to spend $700+ on another feeder. If you have a dock over some deeper water, or are up for building one, I'd use one of these. It works great if you live on your pond and can fill it every day.
