I am probably late to the game...but has the location of forum users always been hot-linked so when you click on a posters town under their name it brings up their town on Google Maps? I just noticed that tonight....or is this something new with the updated forum? That's a cool feature.
Thts new for the update. I like it also. I wish there was a spot for picture of property. Maybe like the Google image over head.

Yes RS I always thought it would be nice if every member had a "Photo Album" on their profile where pics of their pond would display if someone clicked on their "Photo Album" tab. If people didn't like the idea they could just not put any pictures in their album.

Also it might be a cool feature that when you click on a poster's town and go to the Google Map showing it....that as you zoom out it would show other near-by pond boss forum members. When I clicked on my town...and zoomed out just a tad...I saw the town FireIsHot is in 15 miles away.....it would be cool if the farther you zoomed out it would bring up other members location pin....and if you zoomed all the way out it would show pin locations all across the US and beyond. Again if some don't like that feature, they could just pick a vague location like "USA", "Northern Cali", "Texas" or "Central Iowa" so it wouldn't really show where they are.
We had a thread going before about maps. Some didnt like the idea.

Neat - was not aware of this feature.

I like the updated site a lot, one of the neat features is the back to top arrow on the right side. I do think the mapping member location would be neat too.

Yes but their concerns were about the pin pointing out the exact location of their property on Google Maps. Honestly I would not like that either. I just like seeing roughly where everybody is....as in the nearest town. And again if you don't like the feature you can simply put a more vague location like "USA" or North Florida"....it certainly works perfect as a 2EachHisOwn if ya do that way.
I get why someone would not want the public knowing. I just dont think it could show anymore than is already on Google maps. So I would be fine with it but also understand. I was meaning also a place where we could add an overhead view. Not necessarily an pin on maps.

RS the aerials are definitely really cool....a friend recently shot some drone footage of my place and I love looking at it....someday I want to buy one and not crash it...lol
Not sure were to put this question. So I will just put it on this update thread. Why do some people have titles like lunker and some people dont have anything? I dont even see a place to add it. Some say member. Just curious what's the scope on them.
They used to do that years ago
RS, Pat is correct. Those were various designations that aren't used anymore.

As far as the Google map deal, even though we live at the farm, I didn't post my actual property location. Our mail comes from Cumby, we live in an old legacy community with no mappable location, and the closest blue mailbox to us is 10 miles away in Emory. I went with Emory.
The biggest feature folks were hoping to see is onsite, direct upload of pictures right to the messages, preferably using the typical attachment workflow that we would use when composing email or text messages. Working with a third party photo hosting software is not worth the trouble. Many would post images if it was as easy as adding an attachment and having the image show inline. If digital space is an issue then the software could resize and change resolution to achieve smaller file size. I believe the current system already limits file size but I would suspect with cell phone taking giant pictures that most upload managers on forums automatically down size for you?

What new possibilities exist with ubbthread software for picture hosting?
This is what im referring to. Nobody would have to know the location of it.

I do like the click and drag feature. I still don't know how to just make the image appear. Several have told me but I just don't get it. Every time I try it gets all jacked up.

Why did you shape your pond like the millennium falcon?

Rusto's a bit of a freak if you hadn't guessed......
I am very much one dirtier the better but that's a whole different forum lol. But I also had no idea what the millennium falcon was until someone on here pointed it out to me. Its a different shape now. one of these years when google updates the map I will post a new one. One day I just started digging on the shallow side when it was low. I didnt want to take the dirt far (small tractor 33hp). So I started making a dirt pier with it. That's just the shape it took on. My wife also says it looks like giant PENIS. She dosnt use that word but ya get the picture lol. But that's also from the ground.
Any chance we can get a update on what's going on with pictures? They was working after the update. The I believe the end of last week they stopped loading on the page. If we need to do something different on how we load the pictures can you let us know? Please and thank you very much.
Yep, pictures I posted through the forum are all erroring out.

My pictures post flawlessly. I upload to Imgur and then post the appropriate link. Both of my kids are IT professionals and their recommendations have been flawless. Here is a recent turkey pic:
